- with MLaw Outlaws-
Through direct legal support and impact advocacy, OUTreach works to increase access to justice for LGBTQ community members. The project, formerly known as the LGBTQ Rights Project, was established in 2014 by MLaw Outlaws, Michigan Law School's LGBT student organization. Project partners include the Jim Toy Community Center, Legal Services of South Central Michigan, and local volunteer attorneys.
OUTreach supports LGBTQ+ impact litigation by providing legal research support to nonprofit attorneys and developing educational materials for legal practitioners. We also perform community outreach by organizing events, such as educational panels and name change clinics.
We provide free legal name change support, educational panels, self-representation kits, and attorney referral assistance. If you would like support on a name change case, please contact OUTreach at or leave a voicemail at (734) 707-9243. We try to return all voicemails and messages within a week.
